Dear ESAT High School Families and Scholars,
I am so excited to launch the 2022-23 school year with all of you. Now that we have had a full year of school to practice “our new normal”, the teachers and staff at ESAT are working hard to make this upcoming school year our best year yet.
We have plenty to celebrate from last school year as we head into the new one, a few highlights are:
We have so much to look forward to in the year ahead. In response to parent, student, and staff advocacy, we have added an ELD Coordinator for the first time in our school’s history, to support our English Learners and their families. We are also launching a revised advisory program school-wide, with an emphasis on college readiness and social-emotional learning. Scholars will be preparing for life after high school by researching careers, identifying colleges, and beginning the application process. Students will also engage in a weekly social-emotional learning lesson- that is, better understanding themselves and their peers so that they can have healthy and productive relationships now and in the future. Finally, we’ll be launching an Environmental Sustainability Committee - made up of teachers, staff, students, and parents, to make recommendations and propose solutions for how to make ESAT a more sustainable school.
I am excited that we are able to resume in person meetings with parents and families this school year! Please save the date for Back to School Night, which will be on Thursday September 1, 2022 from 5pm-7:00pm.
I’m excited to stay in communication with all of you as we continue to navigate the year ahead. Expect to receive regular updates through ParentSquare, from me and from our front office team as well as other staff at ESAT. You can also follow us on Instagram - our main account is @ESATHigh and we have a Student Government profile @esat.studentgov.
If you have any questions or if there is anything that I can do to help you prepare for the year ahead, please don’t hesitate to call or email me. I look forward to seeing you all very soon and working with you to have a successful 2022-23 school year!
